Welcome to 31:13 Photography!

31:13 Photography was built from a love of storytelling and preserving moments that matter most, and it has been apart of my life for longer than I can honestly remember.

My mom has always had a passion for journalism and storytelling, and when I was young, my dad got her a camera. My fascination with it quickly grew. I was always stealing one of my parents' phones or computer just so I could take pictures, which then turned into taking the camera. Then, in 8th grade, I took my first journalism class. I began helping document memories and events for the yearbook, and somewhere along the way, I completely feel in love with the camera and the stories it could help tell. That Christmas, I received my very first camera, and honestly, I never looked back.

Throughout high school, a lot of my photography centered around sports and documenting moments for the people around me. But during my gap year, photography began evolving into something even bigger. I slowly started taking on more family and branding sessions, which naturally grew into seniors, couples, and lifestyle photography through word of mouth.

Then one connection changed everything.

I met a couple that wanted me to capture their wedding, and they later introduced me to their venue owner. Through that relationship, I was welcomed with open arms into the wedding world. Taking the step to start doing weddings as my own lead photographer brought a lot of emotion - nerves, excitement, but most importantly peace. What started as an opportunity quickly became one of the greatest passions of my life.

There is something incredibly special about wedding days. The emotion, the intentionality, the once-in-a-lifetime moments, and the trust that couples and parents place in me to preserve it all. Being able to serve people during such meaningful  seasons of their lives is something that I will never take lightly.

So over the years, photography has become so much more than just a creative outlet for me. It became a way to freeze moments that people will someday look back on and cherish forever. The big moments matter deeply, but honestly, I think the little moments matter just as much. The way your fiancé laughs at you during your engagement session, the way your mom fixes your veil before the ceremony, and the way your child reaches for your hand during family photos. Those are the moments I find myself drawn to every single time I pick up my camera.
